  • The Clinical Coder/Senior Clinical Coder is responsible for reviewing and interpreting health care records in paper and electronic formats to accurately assign complex codes to inpatient episodes of care based on available documentation and in accordance with coding standards and local guidelines.  Throughput targets and grading are dependent upon qualifications and experience.
  • As a valued member of the Clinical Coding Unit  Clinical Coders have access to HIM expertise and mentoring on a daily basis, are encouraged ot develop and maintain currency of knowledge, and routinely involved in coding team discussions.
  • CMN, as an Affiliated Health Organisation, is a public hospital based at Waratah and is an integral part of the Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD).

 What you bring  

  • ICD10-AM Clinical Classification coding qualification and experience
  • Advanced Medical Terminology skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated Computer Literacy and knowledge of hospital based informatoin systems
  • Ability to maintain the strictest Confidentiality in all work related matters and to communicate effectively
  • Proven ability to work unsupervised, as a member of a team and to meet throughput targets
  • Commitment to the Mission, Vision and Values of Calvary with the ability and desire to uphold these principles
