About the Role

The Resident Medical Officer provides 24 hour medical coverage to Calvary John James Hospital with on call and telephone support from senior VMOs. You will be reportable to the executive team at Calvary John James Hospital.

 

What you bring 

  • Registration through AHPRA without supervision restrictions
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
  • Qualified and Experienced PGY 3 and above RMOs
  • Experience working independently as an RMO
  • Two current referees ( one being the current Clinical Direct Manager)
  • Current immunisation status
  • Current advanced life support qualifications

Selection Criteria Essential: Full AHPRA registration without limitations
Essential: Proven competence in applying medical knowledge and sound judgement in clinical diagnosis, investigation and treatment of patients.
Essential: Demonstrated ability to contribute to the general management of a clinical unit in a customer focused environment, including the ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team
Essential: Well developed ability to liaise and communicate effectively with patients, relatives, staff and colleagues
Essential: An understanding and ability to apply quality improvement principles in medical practice and within an accredited hospital. An understanding of the mission and values of the organisation and an ability to apply them practically
Essential: A knowledge, understanding and commitment to the principles and practices of: o risk management in accordance with Calvary Health Care ACT Integrated Risk Management Strategy; o clinical governance; and safety, o safe, quality customer service; o workplace equity, and o Injury prevention and a
Essential: Postgraduate experience commensurate at a minimum of RMO year 2 (post graduate year 3 or 4)
Essential: Ability to work within personal level of expertise and seek assistance as needed from senior staff
