About the Role


The role includes the provision of specialised anaesthesia services, preadmission review and acute pain services care and clinical consultative services for CPHB. To provide quality and risk management inputs regarding the anaesthetic service. To provide teaching and training including preparing registrars for both independent specialist practice and for specialist examinations.

Your statement of claims against the selection criteria should summarise how your skills and experiences would enable you to fulfil the responsibilities of the position. It is therefore in the interests of candidates to present their application in a way that demonstrates significant outcomes associated with each of the criteria, as well as the capabilities and behaviours that underpin them.

  1. Demonstrated ability to competently practice the speciality of Anaesthesia at a senior level.
  2. Demonstrated commitment to high quality patient care.
  3. Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills, including an ability to provide mentorship and work as a team member in a multidisciplinary environment.
  4. Experience and expertise in teaching and training. Preparing registrars for both independent specialist practice and for specialist examinations. 
  5. Participate in research, audit and quality assurance activities of the profession.
  6. Experience in clinical governance and an understanding of the National Quality and Safety Standards in Anaesthetics.
  7. An understanding of the mission and values of Calvary and an ability to apply them practically.

Appointment to this position is dependent upon written confirmation of a Scope of Clinical Practice (SOCP). The candidate will be required to provide appropriately validated documents for credentialing purposes
