About the role 


CPHB Occupational Therapy department is seeking a dynamic, experienced Allied Health Assistant to join their team. The role will support Occupational Therapists in the Mental Health and Acute wards of the hospital, working with inpatients (adult and older persons) with mental illnesses, and with a variety of medical and surgical conditions, including neurological events and post orthopaedic surgery.


The role has a strong focus on the delivery of therapeutic and educational group programs in both settings, implementation of individual rehabilitation and recovery programs and supporting the administrative and resource management needs of the department – including the Occupational Therapy loan equipment pool.


What you bring 


The successful candidate will require strong time management, communication, prioritisation and negotiation skills working across two clinical streams. Capacity to work well and engage favourably with a broad spectrum of consumers, including managing challenging behaviours at times, is essential. Knowledge of Occupational Therapy adaptive and pressure care equipment, and strong clinical documentation skills will be advantageous.


This role requires the successful candidate to work 9.30am-3.30pm (some flexibility) 4 days per week and must include Monday and Tuesday
