About the role

 

To provide surgical assessment and clinical care to patients within the surgical wards, Rehabilitation department and palliative care units as required. The Surgical HMO is responsible to the Consultant Specialist who is the principle treating practitioner of the patient and the HMO liaises closely with the relevant Clinical Managers and staff of each department.

 

 

What you bring  

 

  • MBBS or equivalent and currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Current professional medical indemnity
  • Post Grad 2 years minimum
  • Post graduate clinical experience in surgical rotation 
  • Current proficiency in advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Demonstrated ability to provide a multidisciplinary approach to assessment and management of patients
  • Demonstrated high level communication skills both written and verbal
  • A professional attitude and flexibility in work role with a preparedness to work afterhours as required and negotiated according to the work schedule
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • The ability to work in a complex environment with competing priorities
  • Demonstrated initiative to resolve issues
  • Personal integrity and commitment to the mission and values of Calvary. 
  •  A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
