Patient Services Officer - Full Time Position

  • Must be available to work shifts 7 days per week from 630am-1000pm

About the role

An interesting opportunity at Calvary Hospital to work in Patient Services in Admissions, Data Entry/Pre Admissions, Switchboard, Consulting Rooms, Medical Records, Ward Clerk Role and Theatre Bookings at Calvary North Adelaide Hospital.

With organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks, you will perform a broad range of administrative duties. You will be highly committed to providing excellent customer service. 

Possessing experience in an administrative role within a healthcare setting and with familiarity with IPM software you will have the ability to work under pressure and maintain good working relations with others.  You will have a sound knowledge of medical terminology and demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills. 

What you bring 

  • Process patient admissions
  • Pre-admission Data Entry using IPM  computer system
  • Patient, Health Fund and Doctors Rooms correspondence
  • Maintaining of filing system               
  • Collation and preparation of patient case-notes
  • General reception and switchboard
  • Admission and discharge of overnight and day patients
  • Health fund validation
  • Collection and receipting of monies
  • Preparing and finalising Doctors theatre lists
  • Escorting Patients to Rooms
  • Other duties as requested by the Patient Administration Manager/Supervisor
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
