Junior Medical Officer Manager

Full Time Fixed Term (3 months with a possiblity of extension)

Salary range: $84,257 - $96,430

About the role

 

The Junior Medical Officer (JMO) Manager is responsible for the co-ordination of the day-to-day running of the JMO workforce at Calvary Hospital. This position is responsible for the recruitment, engagement, credentialing and rostering of JMOs, including locums. The successful applicant will have oversight of the medical rosters of all JMOs in the hospital and is directly responsible for the design and maintenance of the rosters for PGY1/2 JMOs, medical and surgical registrars and career medical officers (CMOs). The JMO manager is the first point of call for JMOs for rostering, leave, education and pastoral care issues. The manager works closely with the JMO Director(s) of Postgraduate Education and Training (DPET) and with the specialty Directors to ensure that the rosters are appropriately designed and filled to meet the needs of the clinical services.

  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret legislation pertaining to medical rosters and medical recruitment
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in staff management
  • Demonstrated experience in change management
